Mandy M. Miller
Mandy M. Miller
DVM, Diplomate ABVP-Feline SpecialityDr.
Miller is a 1998 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, School of
Veterinary Medicine. Her interests in feline medicine were obvious even
in veterinary school where she received the American Association of
Feline Practitioners Award for Excellence in Feline Medicine.
After
graduation she accepted her position as Associate Veterinarian at Cat
Care Clinic. It was here at Cat Care Clinic that she went on to
complete the first ever American Board of Veterinary
Practitioners-approved Residency in Feline Practice. She subsequently
passed a very rigorous set of voluntary examinations and achieved Board
Certification status. Dr Miller also was invited to participate in the
AVMA Leadership Conference and has served on the American Association
of Feline Practitioners Panel for Feline Behavior Guidelines.
Dr
Miller is very interested in preventative care and animal wellness
programs. In 2001 she published a paper in the Journal of the American
Veterinary Medical Association which evaluated the value of screening
older cats for glaucoma as part of such a program. She also was an
author of a study which investigated the effectiveness and safety of a
new method for treating cats with hyperthyroidism. Dr Miller has also
co-authored several other oral scientific presentations to a national
audience and has been an invited speaker on feline wellness programs
and disorders of older cats to veterinary students.
Although
Dr Miller is a highly trained and experienced veterinarian she is also
extremely sensitive to the special role that cats play in the lives of
humans. In fact, many cats have “owned” her over the years and she
enjoys simply being in their presence! She has an engaging personality,
is very empathetic and is determined to give each and every cat
outstanding care.
In her “free time” Dr Miller stays busy
running her pet products company Roving Woolens LLC , and enjoys
working in her garden, running, travel to new and interesting places
and modeling clothing for Duluth Trading Company.
